This digital badge relates to a continuing professional development (CPD) course I completed.

 

The course has been jointly developed by The Open University and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) as a response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The course was designed for counsellors and psychotherapists who have completed their training and are accredited/registered with an appropriate professional body.  The aim of the course is to support me in working ethnically and safely online as a counsellor and psychotherapist at a time when face-to-face therapy is neither possible nor safe. Course completion gives me confidence as a counsellor to offer technology-based counselling safely and effectively.  Regarding online therapy, as with all aspects of my work, my professional development and training is ongoing.  With online platforms and security issues rapidly developing I always endeavour to remain up to date with BACP current advice.
